Boys Basketball Newsletter
Buckaroo Basketball Summer Basketball Newsletter
I hope that your summer is going GREAT and that you are enjoying spending time with your family, relaxing and hopefully starting to get ready for a great fall sports season! I just wanted to review all of the positives that came from our great summer basketball season and give you some preliminary information for this upcoming school year!
Notable accomplishments this summer!
*All of our players that helped “coach” the younger kids at camp did a great job and I have received many compliments regarding the players being positive role models all week. Remember, if you need CPDU hours, you can get them from working our camps!
*Our participation this summer was the best ever! We fielded two teams at team camp and ALWAYS had enough players at the Richland league!
*We competed in the Richland league the best we have ever competed! Playing two games a night and often times against Big 9 schools, our varsity team went 9-3! In addition, our overall record was an impressive 21-10!
* The one thing that we focused on this summer and will continue to identify is the various roles people will play on this years teams. We found out this summer that we are strongest at all levels as a team and not as individuals, so we will continue to identify and promote our roles as this winter you will all be “part of something bigger than yourselves”!
Other important information!
*This fall make sure you are enrolled in basketball class. We really believe that the class has helped all who participate be able to compete at a high level! We also had many coaches in the Richland league remark on the improvement of our players in all fundamentals from last summer!
*Remember to also be enrolled in 0 period T and C if you can! We are really seeing the change in bodies this summer as many of you are becoming young men! We can’t control our height, but we can control our foot quickness and strength!
*Our goal is to improve 1% every day from now until our season starts! This means going out for a fall sport so you are COMPETING and getting stronger and quicker as well as improving in basketball class! If you improve 1% every day until November 9th – you will be 100% better!!
I hope that you have a great “rest” of the summer and will look forward to seeing you this fall!
First day of Tryouts – Monday, November 9
First Game-Tuesday, December 1st
First Home Game-Saturday, December 5th-6:00pm vs. Kennewick
